Advice From Your Pets…

The top 5 things your pets have been sharing:

1.      Drink more water – we often think of water's importance when in the hot summer months to help us regulate our internal temperature or to combat dehydration in contrast to the external climate. However, the pets have been reminding me that the importance now is in assisting our energy levels along with balancing our bodies with the heightened external energies of the holidays and our environments that we are living in which are increasing.

Add in heavier traffic patterns, more social gatherings, and experiences that require your attention to the mix and the need to recognize what fluids are bodies are requesting becomes even more important. Water aids in harmonizing the nervous system which opens the channels for us to choose to respond versus react to everything happening in the environment.

2.      Grounding or Centering - Grounding helps us hold our own energy so we are not affected by the mental, emotional, or physical situations, people, or animals that we encounter in the day-to-day whether known or not. Pets do this by laying on the floor or ground and rolling around in essence clearing their energy or shaking off the energy they have encountered.

Examples of us taking on or not maintaining our own energy:

  • When you feel drained after being in the grocery store or meeting with a person

  • If you feel angry after walking past a person who was yelling over a phone or at someone

  • When you are seated at a table next to someone and you get weepy for no apparent reason

All of these can be signs that someone else’s energy or emotions has penetrated your own. It is key to know the status of how you are feeling so you can recognize when you have absorbed another’s.

9 Tools to Help You Manage Your Energy and Stay More Grounded

Before-hand

Set yourself up for the best and by instill healthy for you boundaries such as:

  • Checking in with yourself and your body. How are you feeling? What emotions, aches, or other sensations (hunger, thirst, feeling off) do you notice?

  • On a scale of 1 to 100, where is your energy level at? And where does it need to be to maintain your energy or walk into this situation, meeting, or be in the presence of this person?

  • Invoking Archangel Michael asking that he surround you with a blue bubble or wrap his wings around you to help you hold your energy to observe instead of absorbing for the highest good.

  • Visualizing roots coming down from your hips, through your knees, ankles, and feet down through the layers of earth down to the earth’s core and place some type of anchor. Then see a cord from earth’s core climbing up through all the layers into your feet, up your ankles, knees, hips, the root chakra, sacral, solar plexus into the heart chakra. Visualize a ray of white or golden light coming down from the heavens through the crown of your head, your 3rd eye, throat chakra and into your heart.

  • Connecting with nature whether for a walk, hike, picnic, in a garden, or in any other way can help you stay more present and grounded.

Post-Engagement to Reset Yourself

  • Ask “is this feeling, pain, thought, emotion, or sensation mine?” If it shifts quickly, it was not yours.

  • Keep a sealed bucket with a new bag of plant soil in it in your vehicle, so that if you notice a reactive response, you can reground or center yourself quickly by dipping your hands into the soil. This is like smelling coffee beans after being in a store of scented lotions, candles, or lotions and you can no longer distinguish between scents to re-center your nose.

  • Walk barefoot on your yard, stand or sit on the grass, beach or in a park – or take a walk.

  • Take a shower or bath to clear the energy.

3.      Play – Focus on the joy that an activity embodies in your heart and body. Acknowledge what you are feeling and experiencing through the various aspects of play you are choosing for yourself.  Be honest with yourself as to which items do you feel the deepest most bubbly levels of joy and those that you experience less.

4.      Movement – Just as we often thing the animals in our lives need movement, so too do we. Being active for 30 or so minutes a day aids us in processing the day, keeps our head more clear, increases our oxygen levels, helps with our circulation, and keeps us moving forward on projects or tasks.

5.      Celebrate the moments, the shifts whether big or small meaning it can be a shift in your perspective or that you chose to release an item that up until that minute you could not. Make sure to celebrate all the movement that occurs within yourself. The challenges, the excitement, and the joy-moments. Just recognizing it – is a reason to celebrate!
