Changing Up Our World

Simple changes in our environments can shift the way we experience things. For instance, replacing the layout of a room or the placement of items on dressers or other tabletops can switch the energy in how we relate to a room.

Every couple of months, I do this in my place. For me personally it triggers a renewal of my energy. This dates back to when I was a kid. I would periodically move the bed, other furnishings, and even accessories around my bedroom providing me with not only an adjustment in energy, but also a change in the way I saw things as my perspective was always shifting. This went as far as to sleeping on different sides of the bed.

In every home I have lived, this has been part of my routine to keep it fresh. I have also found that in doing so I find multiple favorite experiences and layouts from the initial placement of the furnishings. Sometimes I have had to think outside the box as larger pieces weren’t that easy to move or could not be due to the size, room configuration or the flooring type. In my current place this is the case; instead of totally changing the room around, I relocate the pictures along with tabletop items and some smaller or lighter pieces.

This has given me the opportunity to upgrade my view from my computer with a few simple changes to its location, the artwork behind it, and using a different piece of furniture.  Doing these things allows me to bring the outside pond, trees and nature into my view which provides a calming yet surprisingly focused energy. An inner happiness exudes as it takes on this new shape and feel to the space.

We often hear the quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world” which from my perspective is about making the inner shifts in the way we think, in our emotional responses, the way we see, feel, hear, and do things. Releasing older or outdated versions within ourselves to step into who we are becoming that then shifts our immediate environment and ripples outward from the core of who we are. This is a continual process as our experiences shift who we are.

The changes that I made in my personal environment of my home to me are a reflection of the shifts I am making internally in who I am.  These will then create the waves outward to other areas of my first level or primary personal world and beyond.

One simple change can open new doors and allow new opportunities to show up in amazing ways.
