High Flying Fun

Often the best thing we can do for our bodies, mindset and spirit is to truly play and have fun with a friend. Whether that friend is a two-legged or a three- or four-legged, opening up ourselves to the opportunity for true, connected fun can be key.

This week, I was visiting with a new pup friend. When I met her, I was told she loves to do walks and hikes. When I arrived, I found multiple frisbees all around the yard. I took a chance the first night throwing one her way. She leaped up catching it immediately and so began a series of three rounds of these flying from one side of the yard to the other and back again. I was very involved as I had to keep at least one step ahead of her and she loved the constant interaction, joyous sounds and lighthearted energy while being able to see me face to face.

Although we have gone out for walks in the morning, this is a favorite interactive game every evening between breaks of belly rubs, love and enjoying listening to nature in her yard. There is a time for long and short walks, hikes and a place for more one-on-one connection and yard play. It keeps activity fun for all involved to mix it up and keep your friends guessing.  It is sort of like high- or low- intensity interval training. Everyone is getting good movement and it is better when both parties are present with one another.

Discovering ways to keep the games interesting keeps your friends engaged. ❤🐾
