Step One: Awareness

Awareness goes hand in hand with understanding the animal beings in our lives as well as ourselves. Conversations can occur via sight, emotions, sensitivities in the body and behaviors. Being present and learning to check in with yourself before hand will help you to open the door to understanding as to whether what you are experiencing is truly your own or from one of the beings around you.

So was the case just this morning. Before leaving the house, I checked in with my body as to whether I needed to eat some food prior to heading out and the answer was no. Upon arriving at my pet companion visit, within the first ten minutes during some connecting with the pups and one of the present cats who greets me at the door – my stomach began growling. I once again checked in with my body and knew it was not me who was hungry. I also knew that my client had been having challenges in handling certain food items as of late, so I reached out to see if the pets had been fed and to offer to get their food. Upon doing so, the hunger in my own body went away. And there were now several incredibly happy kids in the environment.

Afterwards, I tuned into the cat who joined me for some Reiki in the front room. She tends to be the caregiver and nurturer of all family members whether feline, canine, or human. She also attempts to keep the peace – sometimes this is accepted and other times not so much. Therefore, she is always up for some Reiki to refill herself as well as I reset the home environment for those who are open to receiving it in their own way often without being seen by me or others.

Presence and awareness open the door to communicating with your animal beings in new ways. First steps always begin with you, the human being in the room. As the pets and animal beings in our environments tend to be most often present and conscious of the status of their own bodies, they are just waiting for us to get on board.
