A Look Back Over 2023

As 2023 comes to a close, I am reminded of the successes and challenges that this year has brought along with all the love, friendship and joys in working with the animal and nature friends that have come into my life.

The joys, successes, and growth have been numerous. Starting with being of service to 96 animal friends. New offerings of a 45-minute visit as well as a distance travel Reiki pack have opened the door to eight new clients including the opportunity to be of service to people outside my territory with one outside the country.

I have walked beside four beloved animal companions in one way or another to the Rainbow Bridge this year.  Each one is special and brings to mind joyful and loving memories – and emotional, heart heavy experiences. Amongst the four this year, I saw two shift from being timid and insecure to accepting and giving love in the years I knew them while two others shared their journeys of health and aging while finding joy in the moments which continues to be lessons for us all.

I have seen my growth with these intuition inspired weekly blogs and the book writing/publishing journey that started at the end of April. One gets to see their walk in a whole new way within this process. In the past, I was a very private person when it came to things going on in my life as well as in the lessons coming through the business. Many of the latter have offered teachings for you on animal communication and insights into my walk with them. For me, these have been creating a door for personal insights to surface in a whole new way and learning more about myself.

I have been very blessed by the relationships of the new, existing, and previous clients who have found Dream Pet Care, been a part of my first eight years, and welcomed me into your homes, into your pets’ lives, and to unearth the lessons and love they share with every breath they take. These relationships have filled me with so much love, joy and teach me daily the ultimate gift of presence. I so appreciate you all and the business you have brought to me this year. Many of you have been with me since the beginning and it has been quite the journey!

On a personal front, I am grateful to my mom for opening up my eyes to new places both locally and internationally when she took me with her on these trips which I would not have been able to go on without her support. We have explored a lot of the new together while experiencing situations that asked us to grow, change, and find different ways to see them. Some were gentle and others most definitely were not, but we survived.

Relying on others has been a big theme and challenge in my life over the past eight years as well and seemed to amp up in a variety of areas this year for us both.  My gratitude to her goes beyond a mother and a daughter to that of a great friend and the things we have shared and walked through together. Thank you, I love you very much Mom.

Like most people, I had my own challenges this year to face and overcome. Some had quick solutions and others tested me to dig deep into beliefs around the business, its foundation, and changes that were necessary. There were some difficult decisions that were made in the last several months to support me and the business to keep it moving forward. I am hopeful that these changes will help me get beyond the recent challenges along with the other offerings and channels I have been looking into to support the business beyond the peak and busy periods while keeping self-care at the forefront.

As is the case in many entrepreneurial style businesses, we find what works and doesn’t through trial and error. Or as Thomas Edison once said of his journey for inventing the light bulb, he found 10,000 ways that didn’t work, but all it takes is finding that one that does. Like him, I have faced and been challenged by what works for others and have learned a lot on this journey to finding what works for me.

As we enter into 2024, I look forward to our continued relationships on life’s adventure. May you find peace, new avenues to explore, joy-filled moments around each corner and love that lights your way!
