Animal Dream Messages
You may wonder at the latest trend of posts about various types of animal beings, their messages and what they represent on my social media pages. I have always had very vivid dreams – many with animal beings present and often it would catch me by surprise. I was left in the morning wondering what the heck the dreams could be about and what did it have to do with me.
In the beginning, I used various dream symbol books and sites to help me break down the dream images to educate myself and understand what the messages were. Then later their meanings came through a lot easier. You may be asking what is the importance? We can have a reaction when certain animals show up in person or in dreams such as a snake or butterfly. With the snake, you may cringe and attempt to clear it quickly from your memory. With a butterfly, it may promote a lighter energy as you see it dancing upon a gentle breeze along a trail in front of you. The snake may be sharing a part of yourself that needs to be shed or released to move forward with greater ease or may even represent a form of medicine. Whereas the butterfly could be helping you focus on a new way in your life for you to emerge. It also speaks of a huge transformation as you have gone from a caterpillar into a cocoon to awakening as a butterfly. Both have to do with forms of change. Would knowing that offer you a different perspective of what your dreams may be working to tell you?
In 2013, I had a dream about a dark-haired cat named Moon Shadow who was talking to me. This dream was around the time I learned my position of thirteen years was being restructured out of the university I worked for at the time. Cats represent intuition, feminine characteristics, nurturing, independence and connecting to that aspect of yourself. When I looked up Moon Shadow, I came across the song by Cat Stevens that was named such and meant that everything was going to be okay. An important message at such a challenging stage of my life and career in a year where I experienced many changes in all areas. At that point, I had not ever heard of the song or artist, so something that would not have necessarily come from my memory bank.
In dreams, I often have animals, numbers, songs, people, trees, rooms in a home and all sorts of things. Each has a meaning that can open our eyes to what intuitive message our dreams are attempting to relay to us – and it can be guidance from your higher self, a loved one, the universe or a higher being helping you on your journey.
