Do Pets Reach Out?
It happens more with those on the other side. However, I have had some on this side that will periodically connect and show up out on hikes and the like.
This, yes, is their version of a phone call. Only it’s a face popping up in my mind or a visual of them appearing in some way. One dog who had transitioned two weeks prior, yelled “shotgun” as he arrived in my car while I was driving.
I would like to say that is unusual, but I had an uncle do something similar when honing his new, “look what I can do in my new spirit form.” It wasn’t as shocking when the pup did it as a result.
Two felines on this side arrived while I was hiking, one showing up on my right shoulder and the other atop my head. These two were learning about stepping outside their comfort zone and were showing where they were in that process. In essence, they needed some help and support by others and they wanted to understand what the people and others living in the space expected of them.
Like us, steps taken in the way we feel inside about something often is invisible to those observing us from the outside. It can be different if your dog, cat, or rabbit shows up in a new spot from his or her normal place to hang out. And often, it does not even register – so we miss the shift all together.
Similarly, we make a new choice that feels monumental, yet often no one notices or acknowledges the change – the same is of the animal family members when they are stepping into the new.
Some pets living across the rainbow bridge reach out with music as a signature while others highlight something that was key in my relationship with them such as a mailbox. While one kid showed a picture of a type of flower which was her name to show who was coming through to connect. Each has his or her unique method.
Observation is an important skill when it comes to what we are picking up, identification of the clues and understanding the messages. For animal communication, you often need to channel your inner mystery solving personality to look at the clues from various angles and especially big picture.
