Is the Light Calling
Many of our pet friends show that they are getting close to a new phase of health or a new part of their journey with their actions. For some it is how they move through the yard that is different, or the way they gaze at the light, the less time they on their own join the family or even the more they take themselves to the furthest, darkest area of the house. It can be them choosing to be in a room they typically would not be in to share a message of moving to another place or into the place between here or there. Them choosing to be alone versus in the company of their people where they have always been. Change is coming.
Pets crawling beneath a table and seeing if we are watching can often be a message that something is happening beneath the surface of their body. Those who begin walking towards lights in the home or car lights while out on a walk may be that the light is calling to them. Many will enter a phase where there is a burst of energy or clarity in how they go about their day before entering the next part of their journey. I call it akin to them rising to the occasion – as they know a new beginning is coming.
In other experiences with animal companions, some have fallen into a pool multiple times to share a message of renewal or coming full circle when they are walking in circles in a home or yard. Many pets sit facing east to show a new chapter is coming. Others are awaiting your understanding or acknowledgement. Some will go through a bout of anger, frustration or act out of character to the point of nipping at you when they are beyond ready. For often they are ready physically before we are emotionally. When they can, they will do their best to help you reach that place, but often the time frames do not match or things within the body are occurring at a faster pace.
Many pet parents have struggled throughout the years with knowing when it is time. As I spoke about in the previous blog (For the Highest and Greatest Good), there are often unconscious thoughts, cues or words spoken that would tell us the pet parents are aware on a certain level as to where the pets are or where they are heading. Yet speaking the words aloud takes the individual on an emotional journey often through the layers of guilt and self-questioning of whether they have done enough. There is no right or wrong answer – nor one set of guidelines. Doing what is in the best interest or best good of the animal or pet in that moment is often the greatest act of love.
Pets in general do not understand the guilt or self-questioning in processing as they see death as a new way of living and a new beginning. They are very much around us in spirit just as other family members are. The most challenging part is retraining ourselves to feel their presence, energy or see them in another pet’s actions versus physically seeing them.
There is always something for which others can gain from the knowledge we have learned on our path. Know we all will have a decision that may challenge each of us in the name of love. Know you are not alone and surrounded by much love for where you are in the journey.
