Step Two: Presence and Perspective

Animal communication, can you receive messages in some way like I do? The simple answer is yes! Like the saying goes, the teacher will appear when you are ready…in this case, you do not have to go far as they are in your house! They are always ready when we are and tend to be much more patient.

It often will take looking at things from a higher or different perspective. In the movie Dead Poets Society, there is a key scene when Robin William’s character guides the students to get up on top of their desks to explore a new way to look at the world around them. If you begin with what is your pet's normal way of interacting with you, now you can start to notice or observe when something is different or out of character for them.

Awareness is one of the keys to learning to connect with them. Check back to my earlier blog called Step One: Awareness to gain more insights to help you as you and your family members begin your journey.

Presence is a second key step in receiving message from animal beings. One thing our pets are is present. It’s how they know when we are feeling off, where we are hurting, whether we have a medical episode starting or even seizures or an ailment. If they can tell us that, why not anything else?

When we choose to step into their world, it begins with presence. This can mean getting into a natural environment, going outside, connecting with them where they are without a television, cell phone or other electronic device that draw attention away from being present.

Start today, this moment, is your pet looking at you in a new way as you read this? Are you suddenly hungry when you weren’t before reading this post or are you thinking a treat sounds good right now? Or you have a sudden urge to go to the park or get out your cat’s favorite toy? Yes, your pet may be talking with you right now!

In these examples it focuses on what your dog, cat, or pet may be wanting; however, know they can offer us wisdom to aid us on our own path. The key is to check in with your body, feelings, emotions, possible actions, and thoughts. What were you thinking about just before noticing that they were acting differently, or were you experiencing other sensations? Tapping into what have you been talking to yourself and/or others about or even what needs to shift in your life to reach a goal? Yep, they have an answer for that too!
