Take It Easy
For many of us, slowing down or taking it easy when we want to be moving full speed ahead on a project whether work or personal related is the most challenging step. I find for myself when I want to do something of a physical nature (i.e., clearing through stuff in the house, increasing the amount of walking/hiking or creating something for my business), I must ask myself a key question. Am I doing so to not do a step that is meant to slow me down? Cause there are times when this is the case. Or even what am I wanting to run from?
Sometimes the best thing for me is taking five- to ten-minutes to meditate in the morning yet I can find it a struggle to do so. In that case, I will go for a walk often in the dark to gain that same type of quiet space. There are moments when my body though actually needed the non-action for recovery from an experience known or unknown. We do not know how going on a trip, doing something new or being in an overly crowded space affects the body, our energy, our mindset, or our emotions. Since rarely are we journaling our experiences as we go, we are not keeping track of the ebbs and flow of our systems, nor do we have that instant recall or photographic memory.
We have all heard or often spoken the words, “I need a vacation from the vacation.” There are times when we need to go within especially at times when our external environment is telling us to go-go-go! We are often even the ones pushing ourselves for a variety of reasons.
Asking ourselves the important question of why and truly listening to our inner voice will keep us out of issues that can cause breakdowns or harm in our bodies, our mindset, and our energy.
